Curtis is the daughter of Carmencita Ojales from Bolinao Pangasinan in Australia as well as James Ernest Curtis Smith an Australian lawyer, was born on July 25, 1970 in Yarrawonga. The father of her mother was engaged to Ojales before 1982. Jasmine, her younger sister is also an actress. Clare was a mother-in-law in their father's family. Her death was at only 4 months old in 2007.
