Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress and a singer. Her early Broadway role titles include Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in an Play. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of the majority of her career collaborating with acclaimed actors, directors, and stage performers across film and television and she keeps working on that award-winning project with several new projects in the pipeline. Ashford will next be seen playing opposite Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu restricted program Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is in the process of completing production on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. This film is undoubtedly a Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway in 2023 with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main character of Ryan Murphy's latest FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on a national scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other major characters. Ashford was a part of two seasons of the popular CBS comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. The actress has also appeared on Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original performance of Lauren on Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. Born and raised in Denver Ashford now splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
